7 Signs of the End of the World
Tweet
There's much talk about the world ending in our day. And why not? With the increase of weapons of mass destruction and the potential of them falling into the wrong hands ~ and then being used?! ~ of course, that's one way the world (as we know it) might cease to exist. And the world came to an end once before. It happened in the days of a person named Noah who ultimately was rescued from a cataclysmic Flood. You've heard the story, haven't you? It isn't just a myth. Indeed, Noah was a person who really lived. And we know it for sure because the perfect Man, Jesus (who could never tell a lie), talked about him: "And just as it happened in the days of Noah, so it shall be also in the days of the Son of Man." (Luke 17:26) With the phrase "in the days of the Son of Man," our Lord was referring to that period of human history at the end of the age that will culminate with His return to earth.
And the Bible offers clues as to when it'll all take place. I've highlighted a few of them in the following list (which others might you add?)...
7 Signs of the End of the World:
(Click on Bible references to view)
1. People will be going about their business as usual. (Luke 17:27a, 28)
2. There will be an increase in and access to knowledge. (Daniel 12:4)
3. There will be a sense of unawareness as to what's about to happen. (Luke 17:27a, 28)
4. There will be mockers dismissing the possibility of Christ's return. (2 Peter 3:3-4)
5. There will be a significant rise in crime and law-breaking. (Matthew 24:12)
6. There will be the appearance of false charismatic personalities, religions and Messiahs. (Matthew 24:5, 11, 24)
7. The Jewish people/nation will again exist in their Middle Eastern homeland. (Matthew 24:32-33)

Good post! I like to stay hopeful though, and leave my faith in God for all to be well. My favorite blog is George Fellendorf's. You can find it here: http://fellendorf.wordpress.com/
God Bless
Great post. Just wanted to add this.
2 Timothy 3 (NIV)
"1 But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.
6 They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over gullible women, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of evil desires, 7 always learning but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth. 8 Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these teachers oppose the truth. They are men of depraved minds, who, as far as the faith is concerned, are rejected. 9 But they will not get very far because, as in the case of those men, their folly will be clear to everyone."
Sadly, I can recognize so many of these traits already.

Harvest is great... Workers are few...
To follow #7's line of reasoning, the temple must be rebuilt before the end of the world, and currently can't be rebuilt because the Dome of the Rock is in the way. I don't think we're very close at all.
Wild because a lot of these have already come to pass. If we are truly saved then we will be out of here before having to deal with the bad times.
This has sbeen true
This has been true since 33AD.
The interpreting for #7 not goes with the bible since God was talking about the Heavenly Kingdom and not the earthly!
I think the key is the verse you mentioned, Jesus speaking of the day of Noah. Life went on as usual, then rain fell and people were lifted above the trouble.
Also, Lot escaped, God telling him to leave because He couldn't do anything while Lot was there.
Our sins have already seen God's wrath on the cross. We do not have to see God's wrath, a worse day than anyone has ever seen.
